King's Business School has been using Charlesworth Author Services for approximately twelve months. We have received very positive feedback about the speed and quality of the service from our staff.

Colleagues have commented that the service has exceeded their expectations, offering more than basic copyediting by querying ambiguous statements and unclear passages. Authors have commented that the service is helpful even for native English speakers and that the quality of some papers was improved significantly because of the editing. We haven't tracked acceptance rates closely yet, but a few authors have told us that they think that the service played a role in getting their paper accepted.

The service has also been smooth administratively, with authors registering and uploading their papers independently (via a bespoke link) and Charlesworth invoicing King's on a monthly basis. I am confident in recommending Charlesworth to other institutions.

In 2018 Charlesworth and the Department of Business and Law of the University of Milano-Bicocca settled a procedure which allows the faculty members to directly access the language editing service. Faculty members just need to use their own email address and password to be recognised by the Charlesworth system associating the email address with the Department and with the Department’s payment method. The Department paid a certain amount of the editing service in advance, then Charlesworth reduced its debit towards the Department by the cost of the service required by the single faculty member. The Department pays just once in advance and it does not need to trigger the same procedure several times. The faculty member finds an already settled mechanism which she/he just needs to follow. She/he saves her/his time without putting too much effort. In addition, the Department got a good discount for the editing service.

Of course, the Department defined a roof for each faculty member who has a limited budget to spend for the editing service. The faculty members were very enthusiastic about this procedure. The collaboration with Charlesworth was successful, particularly it allows to provide quicker and effective responses to reviewers.

Universidad De La Rioja is part of the G9 Group of Universities and from March-July 2021 our post-doctoral students and researchers participated in 18 specially created webinars delivered by Charlesworth’s expert author education team, which focused on researcher core skills and on writing and publication skills.

Our key objectives in booking these courses was to enrich our doctoral programme offering and to equip our academics with the knowledge and skill set needed to increase the quality of their research paper output. The aim is to increase acceptance rates in higher quality journals, benefiting both the academic and the reputation of our institution. The quality of the training delivered was to a very high quality and of a real benefit to our academics and I would recommend Charlesworth to other institutions.
